About me

I am a software engineer and author, currently living and working in rural North Gloucestershire. I work for MessageLabs Ltd, and am also technical director of Ford & Mason Ltd.

I attended Atlantic College (part of the United World College movement) and have a degree in Mechanical Engineering and German from the University of Bath.

In July 2004 I was diagnosed with diabetes, and I have started gathering some infomation related to diabetes.

This book was the first on publishing information on the web. It is now out of print, but the entire text is online.

I also edited and published my wife, Catherine Mason's, books:

Veg: simple, stylish and seasonal vegetarian cooking (Pauntley Press, 2001).
Vegetable Heaven (Pauntley Press, 2002 – out of print).
(I contributed the Red sauce for pasta recipe, as well as test-cooking all the other recipes.)
