Microsoft Windows browsers

Most Web browsers for Microsoft Windows are distributed as zip'ed files that can be extracted using PKUNZIP. These include Cello, various versions of Mosaic, Netscape from Mosaic Communications Corporation and the EINet browser. The method of installation will depend primarily on whether the software was obtained on disk or over the network. If the software was on a disk, it may well be installed in the standard Windows fashion, otherwise check whether there is a file called INSTALL or README, possibly with an extension such as .TXT or .DOC, and follow the instructions in that file.

The document is mainly of historical interest as obviously many of the sites mentioned have long since disappeared.
