Logging directives

The logging directives specify details about the request log and the error log. The information logged is very similar for both the CERN and the NCSA servers. All requests are recorded in a request or transfer log, and errors, such as clients timing out, scripts not producing any output, illegal entries in configuration files and server bugs, are recorded in the error log.

The document is mainly of historical interest as obviously many of the sites mentioned have long since disappeared.
