Configuring directory options

The features within individual directories may be controlled with the Options directive, but only to the extent that is explicitly permitted by the AllowOverride global ACF directive described above. The directive is legal both in the global ACF and in directory ACFs. The syntax is:

    Options feature [feature ...]

The directive specifies a list of features that are enabled in the directory containing the ACF, or in the directories specified by a Directory sectioning directive in the global ACF. The directory ACF can only override the global ACF settings to the extent permitted by the AllowOverride global ACF directive. By default all features are enabled, and the recognized features are:

All
Enable all features.
None
Disable all features.
FollowSymLinks
Permit the server to follow symbolic links in the directory.
SymLinksIfOwnerMatch
Only permit the server to follow symbolic links in the directory if the target is owned by the same user as the link.
Includes
Enable the server side includes feature.
IncludesNoExec
Enable all server side include directives except exec.
ExecCGI
Enable execution of CGI scripts in the directory.
Indexes
Enable the generation of directory listing documents (refered to by NCSA as indexes).

The following resource configuration directives can also be used in global and directory ACF files: AddType, AddEncoding, AddIcon, DefaultIcon, IndexIgnore, ReadmeName. The AddDescription and DefaultType resource configuration directives can only be used in directory ACFs. These directives are described in detail in Section gif.
