GN server

GN is a multi-protocol server that will handle both Gopher and HTTP requests. It runs under UNIX and was written by John Franks at the Department of Mathematic at the Northwestern University. It is available at no charge by anonymous FTP from:

ftp://ftp.acns.nwu.edu/pub/gn/gn.tar.gz

The current version is 2.17, which was released at the end of October 1994. There is a mailing list for GN server maintainers. To subscribe send a message to [email protected], with the line `subscribe gn-maint-l' in the body of the mail message.

John Franks is now working on a successor to GN, called WN, which is an HTTP-only server. More information can be found at:
