Purdue Weather Processor

The Purdue Weather Processor is a public weather information system, based at the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at Purdue University in the United States. The department collects US meteorological data from the National Weather Service and the University of Wisconsin, and uses the information to generate weather maps which are then made available on the Web. All the weather images are generated by a software package, WXP, which was developed within the department. WXP is a basic weather analysis package that runs on UNIX and PC-DOS computers. The Web server provides enough information for weather watchers and forecasters to make forecasts from the data. The weather maps are regularly updated and the system contains links to other weather-related Web pages.
