Managing a Web Site

The aim of this chapter is to provide a concise overview of the many issues involved in managing a Web site. Virtually all of these issues are dealt with in much greater detail in later parts of the book, and pointers to the relevant sections will be given as appropriate. There are two main aspects to providing information on the Web: the content of material for publication and the means of delivery via a Web server. This chapter deals first with some of the more general issues related to managing a Web site. Section gif deals with issues concerning materials for publication and Section gif with running and administering a server.
